RN Emergency Department - Full Time - Cape Canaveral Hospital
FORMAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for providing Quality / No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship.
Nursing care is provided to the individual patient based upon cultural, spiritual and age specific needs.
Primary AccountabilitiesAppropriate delegation and supervision of patient care activities within the healthcare setting.
Effective communication with other members of the healthcare team to promote a collaborative environment of care.
Coordinates interdisciplinary plan of care based on current evidence based practice.
Documents all nursing care, change in condition, response to therapy, treatments, procedures and referrals on patient record to met standards.
Demonstrates dependability, reliability and flexibility.
Provides patient, family and/or caregiver education as directed by the plan of care.
Provides service to patients and families with sensitivity and respect for their needs, expectations, age, cultural, and individual needs.
WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO KNOW:
Our Emergency Department at Cape Canaveral Hospital is looking for the right RN to join our team on a full time basis.
Scheduling flexibility is needed as this particular opening is varied days and shifts.
However scheduling will primarily be mid-shift (11AM -11PM or 12PM -12AM).
Our department has 24 beds.
We are a stroke & STEMI certified facility that serves more than 29,000 cases a year.
Right now we are in our busy season with the snow birds coming down for the winter as well as cruise ships so our daily census is around 100.
Our nurse to patient ratio is one nurse to four patients.
We have an outstanding team! We have a good mixture of veteran ED RNs and nurses newer to the specialty.
We even have two new grads currently training.
The team is very engaged and cohesive.
They pride themselves in efficient, quality care with a high level of customer service.
(Our last patient satisfaction scores were 99th percentile!) Our leadership team is known for leading by example.
They are out on the floor with the team whenever possible to support the team.
We are open to train the right nurse into emergency services.
We seek an RN that has at least one year of fast paced hospital-based experience.

BSN preferred.
Current Florida RN licensure.
Current AHA BLS/CPR required.
Current AHA ACLS required.
Minimum of 1 year emergency department experience in an acute care facility preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of RN experience in a fast paced hospital setting required.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
